Man arrested on suspicion of murder in east valley stabbing

A man has been arrested in connection with the killing of another man who was stabbed to death during a fight at an east valley apartment complex.

According to Metro Police:

Brandon Olds, 30, was arrested Friday in the area of Paradise Road and Twain Avenue.

The stabbing occurred about 12:20 p.m. Dec. 16 in the 5500 block of East Harmon Avenue near Boulder Highway. A man, later identified as 28-year-old Kyth Anthony Johnson, was suffering an apparent stab wound there. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Olds is being held without bail at the Clark County Detention Center, where he faces one count of open murder, according to the inmate roster.

Olds has a lengthy criminal history that includes battery constituting domestic violence, manslaughter and voluntary manslaughter, and carrying a concealed weapon, according to Clark County court records.
