Fire

One adult and two children made it safely out of a Henderson house after a fire broke out in the laundry area this morning, according to the city's fire department.

Fire crews were called about 8:30 a.m. to the 2800 block of Rothesay Avenue, near Bicentennial Parkway and Anthem Highlands Drive, according to Henderson Fire Department spokeswoman Kathleen Richards and the American Red Cross of Southern Nevada.

No one was injured, Richards said.

The fire was caused by the clothes dryer, and an estimate of the total damage to the home was not immediately available, she said.

Two adults, two children and a dog were displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross, according to Richards and the nonprofit organization.
