A fire damaged a house Sunday evening about 2.5 miles west of the Las Vegas Strip. No one was hurt.
According to Las Vegas Fire and Rescue:
Firefighters responded to 120 Lucy Thompson St., just south of U.S. 95, at 5:18 p.m. and found smoke and flames coming from the first story of a two-story wood-frame/stucco house. The lower level was filled with thick, black smoke.
Firefighters had the blaze controlled within 10 minutes; the living room and kitchen sustained the most damage. A damage estimate was not available.
The cause is under investigation. A teen who was in the home escaped to a neighbor’s house and called 911.
