2 ex-convicts indicted on multiple charges in Las Vegas slaying

Two ex-convicts are facing murder, conspiracy, kidnapping and robbery charges in the execution-style slayings of two people in November in a car southeast of downtown Las Vegas.

Prosecutor David Stanton said Monday that Marcial Manuel Casarez and Sergio Ignacio Caire Davila were indicted last Wednesday on seven charges in the Nov. 16 slayings of 32-year-old Jamel Colbert and 21-year-old Shelby Taylor Robinson.

Casarez and Davila are being held at the Clark County jail pending arraignment Thursday in Clark County District Court.

A police report says the slayings stemmed from a dispute among several people involved in drugs and prostitution.

The 24-year-old Davila is accused of robbing Colbert and Robinson, and 36-year-old Casarez is accused of shooting them in a vehicle in an alley off Fremont Street near Charleston Boulevard.
