Brazil’s Fabricio Werdum lands a punch to United States’ Cain Velasquez during a heavyweight mixed martial arts title bout at UFC 188 in Mexico City, Saturday, June 13, 2015. Werdum won the fight by submission.

LOS ANGELES — UFC 196 will no longer be a pay-per-view show after heavyweight challenger Cain Velasquez and champion Fabricio Werdum dropped out of the main event with injuries.

The UFC announced Wednesday that the Feb. 6 card in Las Vegas has been renamed and moved to Fox Sports.

Velasquez announced Sunday that he couldn't fight because of the latest in a long series of injuries. Werdum on Monday bowed out of a replacement title bout against Stipe Miocic.

Instead of adding a replacement fight to a pay-per-view show that probably would have sold poorly, the UFC elected to move its traditional Super Bowl weekend show to Fox.

Former welterweight champion Johny Hendricks and Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson are the headliners.

The UFC says fans can get ticket refunds because of the changes.
