Cats rescued from south valley house fire

Two cats were rescued from a garage fire that caused $100,000 in damage Wednesday night at a south valley house, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

Firefighters responded about 10:25 p.m. to the house in the 11000 block of Village Arbor Street, near St. Rose Parkway and Las Vegas Boulevard South, where smoke and flames were coming from the garage, officials said.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control within 10 minutes and prevented it from spreading, officials said. No injuries were reported.

One of the two cats rescued from the home was unresponsive, but it was revived with a pet oxygen mask, officials said.
