A bicyclist struck by a car that entered a northwest valley bike lane was critically injured Friday morning, according to Metro Police.
Officers were called about 10:40 a.m. to Alexander Road near Buffalo Drive, police said.
Also according to police:
The bicyclist, only described as being male, was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition.
An initial investigation determined that the man was riding a Jamis Ventura Sport bike westbound on Alexander when he was struck in the back by a Honda Fit, which had left the travel lane.
The driver of the Honda, a 25-year-old Las Vegas woman, was not impaired and remained at the scene, police said.
The crash remains under investigation.
