Elevators on Las Vegas Strip pedestrian bridges closed Monday

Elevators and escalators on pedestrian bridges along the Las Vegas Strip will be temporarily out of commission for one day.

KTNV reports that electricity for the elevators and escalators on the Tropicana Avenue pedestrian bridges will be shut down Monday as part of an improvement project.

The shutdown will begin at 7 a.m. but only last until the end of the business day.

But the south bridge will stay closed during construction.

Officials say work in the area will continue through the end of the year.
