A kitchen fire in the central valley displaced six people Monday night, according to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue officials.
Occupants of the single-story house in the 2000 block of Mariposa Avenue, near St. Louis and Eastern avenues, reported the fire about 9:45 p.m.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze in less than 10 minutes and confined the damage to the kitchen, officials said.
The American Red Cross was assisting four adults and two children who were displaced.
