Masked man shoots out window at convenience store

A masked man shot out the front window of a convenience store early this morning in what might have been a failed robbery attempt, Metro Police said.

The incident happened about 6 a.m. at the Green Valley Grocery, 4011 N. Lamb Blvd., near East Alexander Road, Officer Michael Rodriguez said.

Three men, all wearing masks, tried to open the door to the store, but it was locked, Rodriguez said. It wasn't clear why the door was not open.

One of the men then shot out the front window with a handgun, Rodriguez said. They may have been intending to rob the store, he said.

A clerk and two customers were not hurt, Rodriguez said. The masked men fled in a vehicle; no description was available, he said.
