Flight diverted to Portland over security concerns

Officials with regional carrier Compass Airlines say a flight from Seattle to San Diego landed in Portland because of an unverified threat.

The Oregonian/OregonLive (http://bit.ly/29SdITD ) reports that the Minneapolis-based airline said in a prepared statement that the flight was diverted to Portland because of an unspecified security concern.

The flight was carrying 58 passengers and four crew members on an Embraer 175 aircraft.

According to the airline, Compass flight 5733 landed at Portland International Airport Saturday morning. Passengers have since left the plane.

A spokeswoman for the Port of Portland says authorities are investigating the incident and did not disclose details about the type of security threat the aircraft faced.
