Man, 64, accused of killing his wife at Henderson home

A 64-year-old man fatally shot his wife Sunday afternoon and then called authorities to report the incident, according to Henderson Police.

Dennis Kopp was taken into custody without incident about 4:45 p.m. in the 1700 block of Sequoia Drive, near Warm Springs Road and Arroyo Grande Boulevard, police said. He was booked at the Henderson Detention Center on a count of murder, police said.

His wife, 62, was found in a bedroom with a gunshot wound, police said. She was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where she died about 5:30 p.m., police said.

Kopp called 911 to report he had just shot his wife at their home, police said. He remained on the phone with dispatchers until officers arrived, police said.

The woman’s death was the sixth homicide in Henderson this year, police said.
