Second suspect arrested in deadly shooting in northeast valley

A second man has been arrested in a fatal shooting Friday at an apartment complex in the northeast valley, according to Metro Police.

Detectives located Cortrayer Zone, 38, about 5 p.m. Wednesday at an apartment in the 4200 block of West Viking Road, near Arville Street and West Flamingo Road, police said. He was taken into custody without incident.

Zone was booked at the Clark County Detention Center on counts of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder and possession of a gun by a prohibited person, according to arrest logs.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting about 2 p.m. Friday at apartment complex in the 400 block of Nellis Boulevard, near Stewart Avenue, police said. Officers found Clarence McQuarters, 34, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police said.

McQuarters was taken to University Medical Center, where he died.

The other suspect, Michael Rusk, 28, was taken into custody Friday and was jailed on counts of murder, conspiracy to commit murder and robbery.
