Interstate 15 southbound lanes were closed near Flamingo Road and Spring Mountain Road, and eastbound Flamingo was closed at the Rio after a man who fled a traffic stop jumped from a freeway overpass and died.
According to police, officers pulled the man over on Interstate 15 near Flamingo Road and requested medical attention just before 2 p.m. Sunday.
But the man ran, then jumped off the bridge and landed in the I-15 southbound lanes.
Police say he was then struck by two vehicles and died from his injuries.
The Regional Transportation Commission tweeted about 3:30 p.m. that lanes were closed and motorists should avoid the area.
The Clark County Coroner's Office will determine his cause of death. The man's identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
