The wife, also shot and killed by the husband, was found a few blocks down from their home at a Walgreens on Lake Mead and Jones boulevards.

A man shot and killed his wife and three children at two north valley locations before turning the gun on himself Wednesday night, according to Metro Police.

The man shot his wife at a Walgreens back parking lot, at Lake Mead and Jones boulevards, Metro Lt. Dan McGrath said. The woman, Phoukeo Dej-Oudom, 35, suffered multiple gunshot wounds, including one in the head.

His body, along with those of his children — Anhurak Jason Dej-Oudom, 9, Xonajuk J.J. Dej-Oudom, 14, and Dalavanh Ariel Dej-Oudom, 15 — were found in a nearby apartment. They all suffered gunshot wounds, McGrath said.

The Clark County Coroner's Office on Thursday provided the names of the wife and children, but the husband's name has not yet been released.

“What we have tonight is a tragedy for this community, for Las Vegas,” McGrath said during an early Thursday briefing.

A Metro Police vehicle is shown behind the gates of the Torrey Pines Condominiums Thursday, June 30, 2016. On Wednesday night, a man shot and killed his three children and himself at their home inside the complex, The wife, also shot and killed by the husband, was found a few blocks from their home at a Walgreens parking lot on Lake Mead and Jones boulevards.

Officers were first called shortly before 7 p.m. to a CVS pharmacy at Lake Mead and Torrey Pines Drive.

A Good Samaritan picked up the woman, who was running through traffic near the intersection, and took her to the pharmacy's entrance.

The husband, who was chasing her in a black Mercedes-Benz two-door sedan, pulled up next to the driver, showed his gun and told her something along the lines of “stay out of it,” before dragging his wife into his car, McGrath said.

The man drove east on Lake Mead and his wife, who was partially hanging from a window, at some point exited the car and fled.

Shortly after 7 p.m., police received several calls of a woman on foot being chased near the Walgreens by a black sedan.

A witness told police she was at the pharmacy's drive-thru when she heard four gunshots.

Minutes later, another bystander found the woman unconscious and tried providing assistance, but she had already died, McGrath said. Her body was still at the scene about 10 p.m.

About 8 p.m., an out-of-state relative called Las Vegas police saying he had received a phone call from a man, whom he described as distraught and suicidal after having done something bad, McGrath said. The man had waited about 30 minutes before contacting police.

SWAT was then dispatched to the family's apartment in the 1900 block of Torrey Pines, near Lake Mead.

After not being able to make contact with anyone in the apartment, officers entered and found four bodies in a bedroom.

Early Thursday, it wasn’t immediately clear if the man shot his children before or after killing his wife, McGrath said. The family was only described as being Filipino.

Police this month received a call about domestic violence at the apartment. Details on that call were not available early Thursday. The couple were also involved in another domestic-related case out of state about a decade ago, McGrath said.

“Domestic violence is still a challenge, but when somebody kills children it disturbs everybody,” McGrath said, adding that detectives had briefed Sheriff Joe Lombardo and other Metro leaders.

Police were expected to remain at the scene until Thursday morning, McGrath said. “It’s tough on all investigators, too, but we still have to complete the job that we have.”
