Police searching for driver in rollover crash

Metro Police say they are looking for the driver of a speeding car that rolled over Monday night, ejecting an 18-year-old passenger who was critically injured.

The crash was reported about 11:15 p.m. in the 4200 block of South Hollywood Boulevard, near Russell Road.

A 1997 Ford Mustang was traveling at a “high rate of speed” south on Hollywood when it ran off and then back onto the road, causing the driver to lose control, police said.

The Mustang rolled over and Alejandro Camargo-Hernandez, 18, was thrown from the car into a desert area, police said. He was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

A 20-year-old passenger who suffered minor injures left the scene, but officers later found him nearby, police said.

A third passenger, an 18-year-old man, was hospitalized but left the hospital before he was treated or talked to officers, police said.

The driver has not been located, police said.
