A 13-year-old bicyclist who was hit by a car this morning near South Fort Apache and West Warm Springs roads is in critical condition.
According to Metro Police:
The boy was hit about 8:55 a.m. near Arby Avenue, just south of Faiss Middle School. He was riding a 24-speed mountain bike north from an alcove and failed to stop before crossing the road.
He was flown to University Medical Center with “very critical injuries.” The 31-year-old driver of the Chevrolet that hit him remained at the scene.
Roads nearby were closed for several hours and reopened about 1 p.m.
No other details were available. The crash remains under investigation.
