An 86-year-old inmate died Sunday afternoon at the Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.
James Burks died about 4:50 p.m. at the prison’s Regional Medical Facility, officials said.
Burks was serving a life sentence for murder. He was committed from Clark County on Nov. 2, 1999.
The Carson Sheriff’s Office Coroner are scheduling an autopsy.
