Nevadans are expected to spend a record $261 million on Easter items this year, the most in 13 years of record-keeping.
According to the Nevada Retail Association:
The figure marks a 7.4 percent increase over spending in 2015, with dining out or home meals the top individual expense. Spending on meals this weekend is expected to reach $83.5 million, followed by spending on clothing at $45.7 million and gifts at $41.5 million.
The estimates are based on the association’s prediction that 80.6 percent of consumers will spend an average $146 each on holiday goods.
