Two people displaced by fire at Henderson condominium complex

Strong winds whipped a fire at a Henderson condominium this morning, but firefighters put out the blaze before it spread, fire department officials said.

An upstairs neighbor reported the fire about 1:40 a.m. at a ground-floor unit at Mission Ridge condominiums on Carnegie Street, near Horizon Ridge Parkway and Eastern Avenue, according to the Henderson Fire Department.

Flames were coming from the balcony, and the wind caused the fire to threaten neighboring units, officials said.

Nobody was injured, but two people were displaced, officials said. The fire was ruled accidental, officials said.

Damage was estimated at about $16,000.
