Court rejects fourth appeal by 76-year-old death row inmate

CARSON CITY — The Nevada Supreme Court has denied the fourth petition by death row inmate Thomas Crump, convicted of killing a Las Vegas prostitute in October 1980.

During his arrest, Crump admitted to seven other murders, some of them in other states, according to court records.

The Supreme Court on Friday rejected his latest claim that his prior attorney was ineffective, that he did not premeditate the killing of Jodie Jameson and that he had brain damage when he confessed to the killing.

Prosecutors said Crump, now 76, used a sheet to strangle Jameson at a motel.
