A 5-year-old boy who went missing in North Las Vegas Wednesday and the man he was last seen with have been found, city police said.

Shaquille Pierce, 22, was arrested and is facing kidnapping charges, police spokeswoman Ann Cavaricci said. Amari Connor appears to be OK and was taken to a hospital for evaluation, she said.

They were found about 6:30 p.m. at Sam's Town, about 26 hours after they were last seen, Cavaricci said.

Further details on the arrest were not immediately available Thursday night.

The FBI joined North Las Vegas police in the investigation and Red Rock Search and Rescue volunteers went house-to-house in the neighborhood near Martin Luther King Boulevard and Cheyenne Avenue.

Amari and Pierce went missing about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said. Cavaricci said Pierce didn't return Amari home as expected several hours later.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
