A pedestrian was in critical condition after being hit by a car early this morning near the Las Vegas Strip, according to Metro Police.
The man was running north across Tropicana Avenue just west of Ocean Drive about 12:30 a.m. when he was hit by a car headed west, police said. He was in a crosswalk but was crossing on a do not walk signal, police said.
The pedestrian, Byron Wilcher, 37, of Wylie, Texas, was taken to University Medical Center with critical injuries, police said.
The 57-year-old driver was not hurt, police said.
