Updated Friday, Nov. 18, 2016 | 10:22 a.m.

A passenger in a high-performance Ford Mustang was killed Thursday when the car went out of control and crossed into oncoming traffic on Flamingo Road, colliding with a pickup truck and another car, according to Metro Police.

After the crash, the driver of the Mustang left on foot and has not been identified, police said.

His passenger, a 27-year-old woman from Las Vegas, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Her name was not released, pending notification of family.

The wreck happened about 5:30 p.m. east of Rainbow Boulevard when the Mustang — a 2010 Shelby GT500 model — headed west on Flamingo, crossed the raised center median and collided with an eastbound Nissan Titan pickup truck, police said. A Chevrolet Cobalt sedan then hit the Mustang, police said.

The driver of the pickup, a 23-year-old Las Vegas man, suffered minor injuries, and the driver of the Cobalt, a 34-year-old Las Vegas woman, had moderate injuries, police said. Both were taken by ambulance to University Medical Center.
