Officials ID man dead in Henderson slaying-suicide case

Authorities have identified a 38-year-old man who police say shot and killed his wife while she was moving out of their home in Henderson, and then killed himself.

The Clark County coroner said that Michael James Yonke died of a self-inflicted gunshot to the head. His death was ruled a suicide.

The name of the woman wasn't immediately made public while the coroner's office notifies relatives. Police say she was 41.

Henderson police spokeswoman Michelle French says officers found the bodies Monday evening in the home in Anthem Highlands after a relative contacted police and expressed concern about the woman's safety.

Police say the woman's 14-year-old daughter from a previous relationship and the couple's 9-year-old daughter weren't home at the time of the shooting. They're being cared-for by relatives.
