Man arrested on DUI count in central valley crash

A 19-year-old man has been booked on one count of DUI with substantial bodily harm in a crash that critically injured a female passenger Friday night at Charleston Boulevard and Maryland Parkway, according to Metro Police.
Also according to police:
About 7:10 p.m., Raul Espinoza was speeding in a 2005 Dodge Magnum west on Charleston, ran a red light and struck a Ford Mustang that was turning onto Maryland. The impact knocked the Dodge into a sidewalk, a traffic signal and a pedestrian. Espinoza’s 25-year-old passenger was critically injured, the 51-year-old driver of the Mustang suffered moderate injuries and the pedestrian suffered minor injuries.
Espinoza was arrested after he was treated at University Medical Center for minor injuries.
Officials initially told the Las Vegas Sun that the crash had been fatal. Also, Espinoza reportedly had rear-ended a woman's vehicle and fled before the crash.
