Las Vegas man gets 11 years in coin shop robbery

A Las Vegas man has been sentenced to more than 11 years in prison in an October robbery at a coin and jewelry store where the elderly owner and a customer were held at gunpoint, according to the office of the U.S. Attorney for the District of Nevada.

Noah Patrick Fields, 23, was ordered to serve 11 years, three months in prison, followed by five years of supervised released, officials said.

Fields pleaded guilty in May to one count of interference with commerce by robbery and one count of use of a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, officials said.

According to his plea agreement, Fields admitted robbing the Fremont Coin Company, 3375 Glen Ave., near Sahara Avenue and Boulder Highway, officials said.

He and a co-conspirator walked into the store on Oct. 14, officials said. Fields held the 90-year-old store owner and a customer at gunpoint while his unidentified partner stole $3,500 in cash and more than $40,000 worth of valuable coins, gold and silver from a display case, officials said.

The case was investigated by Metro Police and the FBI.
