Man gets court date in apartment parking lot slaying case

Terrance Davis

A judge set a Feb. 24 preliminary hearing for a 29-year-old ex-felon accused of killing of his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend during what police had thought was a random shooting.

Terrance Davis' attorney, Randall Pike, didn't immediately respond to messages today following Davis' court appearance on murder and weapon charges.

Davis is accused of killing 25-year-old Ethan Hogan with an assault-style rifle late Nov. 29 in an apartment complex parking lot.

Hogan's ex-girlfriend wasn't injured, and the couple's 5-year-old son was unharmed in a car nearby.

Davis was arrested in December in Lakeland, Florida, and he was returned to Las Vegas where prosecutors haven't decided whether to seek the death penalty.

Davis served Nevada prison time on a 2013 felony conviction for burglary with a weapon and obtaining money under false pretenses.
