CARSON CITY — P. Mark Ghan, who has been vice president and general counsel for Western Nevada College has been named acting president of the school with campuses in Carson City, Minden and Fallon.
The board of regents of the Nevada System of Higher Education made the appointment Thursday while a nationwide search is conducted to find a permanent replacement for former President Chet Burton.
Burton left the school in August to become chief financial officer for the statewide system of universities and colleges.
Ghan has been vice president for administrative services and general counsel for the college since 2013.
