DUI suspect hits pedestrian, house in east valley

A pedestrian escaped life-threatening injuries after a DUI suspect struck a parked car, the victim and an east valley house Tuesday evening, according to Metro Police.

The pedestrian, who was in a sidewalk, was rushed to University Medical Center with possible broken bones, and the driver tried to flee but was apprehended by neighborhood residents, Metro Lt. Grant Rogers said.

Officers and medics responded about 7:30 p.m. to the 1800 block of Winterwood Boulevard, near Charleston and Nellis boulevards, Rogers said.
