Investigation ongoing into stabbing of bus driver in Nevada

Authorities still are investigating why an unruly passenger stabbed and seriously wounded the driver of a Las Vegas-bound Greyhound bus along Interstate 15 about the 24 miles from the California border.

Nevada Highway Patrol officials say 31-year-old Armando Juarez was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and taken to a hospital for evaluation.

They say the 55-year-old driver was stabbed outside the bus after he pulled over while trying to get a passenger who appeared to be under the influence of something to either get off or sit down in his seat late Friday.

The wounded driver got back on the bus, shut the door and reported the stabbing to a Greyhound dispatcher.

A replacement driver was driven to the scene and drove the bus to Las Vegas.
