Food drives are taking place all over the Las Vegas area in advance of Thanksgiving. Here are a few locations:
Help of Southern Nevada has partnered with Smith’s Food & Drug for the nonprofit’s annual Turkey-Thon Donation Drive from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday to Friday. Drop-off locations and times are: Wednesday: Warm Springs & Durango, 8525 W. Warm Springs Road. Thursday: 95 & Durango, 9710 W. Skye Canyon Park Drive; Southern Highlands Pkwy & Cactus, 10600 Southern Highlands Pkwy. Friday: Windmill & Eastern, 2385 E. Windmill Lane; Eastern & Horizon Ridge, 10616 S. Eastern Ave.
Olive Crest, a nonprofit dedicated to preventing child abuse, is having a Thanksgiving food drive through today. Drop-off times are from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m., 4285 N. Rancho Drive.
Mobile food pantry Just One Project hosts its annual Gift of Gobble, making it possible for families in need to enjoy a complete turkey dinner. Donate $25 at justoneproject.org to feed a family.
Every Thanksgiving morning, Gobble Gobble Give feeds the homeless and provides dry goods, warm food and care packages. For a list of ways to volunteer and donate, go to gobblegobblegive.org.
Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic School hosts a holiday food donation drive through Dec. 7. Recommended donations include nonperishable canned or packaged goods. 3046 Alta Drive, 702-802-2323.
Glen Lerner hosts #TEAMTURKEY at Craig Ranch Regional Park on Nov. 21. The event will feature a turkey giveaway with 400 turkeys, a bounce house, face painting, balloon twisters and more.
The Cub Scouts and Salvation Army collect food for their Scouting for Food Thanksgiving drive at participating Smith’s Food & Drug locations.
