The Liberty High football team’s record of 3-4 overall isn’t ideal in late October. The record is misleading because the Patriots had to forfeit two games. It’s also a poor indication of how good of a team they have.

So, they proved it one more time on Friday night with a 40-7 victory against previously unbeaten Foothill, essentially giving the eight-time regional champion Patriots another league crown.
“Our kids were motivated because people were looking at the record and weren’t really giving the kids the respect they deserve,” Liberty coach Rich Muraco said.
Liberty rushed for four touchdowns, including two from Zyrus Fiaseu and a 60-yard run from David Elder. Kyle Beaudry had the other rushing touchdown. Muraco labeled the game his team’s best offensive performance of the season.
Liberty next week plays Basic and in two weeks takes on Coronado, two games it should win for another league title.
