Metro Police say they've found an SUV involved in a hit-and-run in which a motorcycle officer was injured but that the SUV's driver remained at large.

Police say the officer's injuries were minor and that the blue four-door Mercedes SUV was found abandoned about a mile from where the officer was struck during a traffic stop this morning.

The incident happened about 5:50 a.m. today near Jackson Avenue and C Street, northwest of downtown Las Vegas, police said.

Police Lt. Jason Johannson said the officer has stopped behind the SUV before it shifted into reverse, intentionally hitting the officer and his motorcycle.

The SUV then left the scene. Johannson said two men were in the SUV.
