Station Casinos is extending full pay and benefits for employees through May 15 because of the coronavirus pandemic, Richard J. Haskins, president of parent company Red Rock Resorts, said today in a memo to team members.

The company, which had previously committed to pay workers through April 30, decided to tack on another two weeks after Gov. Steve Sisolak extended the statewide closure of casinos and other nonessential businesses from mid-April to the end of the month, the memo said.

Sisolak ordered the closures to help contain the spread of the virus, which has taken the lives of at least 71 people in Nevada.

“Nothing is more important to use than the health and wellbeing of our team members, guests and the entire Las Vegas community, and we wholeheartedly support that decision by the governor,” Haskins said in the memo.

The pay and benefits extension will apply to full-time hourly and salaried team members currently covered through the end of the month, the memo said. It will also cover nearly 700 part-time workers who were converted to full-time employees in March, the memo said.

“Thank you again for your commitment and understanding as we work together through these unprecedented and challenging times,” Haskins said. “In the interim, please do all you can to stay safe and healthy.”
