Station Casinos plans to check the temperatures of its employees and guests, and anyone with a fever will not be allowed on property, the company said.

Under a coronavirus health and safety plan released today, employees will also be tested for COVID-19 before they are allowed to return to work when casinos eventually reopen.

The governor ordered casinos and other nonessential businesses statewide closed in mid-March to help slow the spread of the coronavirus.

Some other businesses have been allowed to reopen with social-distancing guidelines, but no date has been set for casinos to resume operations.

Station employees will be screened before each shift, and anyone with a temperature greater than 100.4 degrees will not be permitted on property.

Guests will also be screened before entering a casino, with those registering a temperature higher than 100.4 not allowed in.

“When our guests walk through our reopened doors, we want them to know that their health and safety is our first priority,” Richard Haskins, president of Station Casinos, said in a statement.

“At the same time, we also want our team members to know that these changes will help safeguard their health as well, whether interacting with guests or each other,” Haskins said.

The company employs about 14,000 in the Las Vegas area.

Station plans to reopen its properties in phases, with Red Rock Resort, Green Valley Ranch Resort, Santa Fe Station, Boulder Station, Palace Station, Sunset Station and its wildfire properties set to open first.

Station properties will also undertake enhanced cleaning and sanitation measures, adhere to social-distancing guidelines and require employees to wear face masks.
