Free virus testing offered for two days at Sam’s Town

Coronavirus testing will be available from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the Sam’s Town parking garage off of Boulder Highway.

The drive-thru and walk-up testing is free, and appointments are not necessary. The site will have 500 tests available each day on a first-come, first-served basis.

The testing is a collaboration among Clark County, the Southern Nevada Health District, Community Ambulance and Guardian Elite Medical Services.

“Clark County is working with multiple community partners to make COVID-19 testing readily available in a variety of locations to all our residents,” Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom said.

“The key to keeping people safe as we reopen our economy is to be able to accurately identify positive cases and encourage people to self-isolate to limit the spread of the virus while it continues to be a threat to public health,” said Segerblom, who is on the board that oversees the Health District.

Testing will also be available from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Searchlight Community Center. The testing site is for residents of Searchlight, Cal-Nev-Ari, Palm Gardens and Nelson. Three hundred test kits will be available on a first-come, first served basis.
