Arnold Anderson had a pair of touchdowns for the Cimarron-Memorial football team in a 28-0 win against SLAM Academy to open the season.

Michael Sabina completed 12-of-16 passes for 114 yards and three touchdowns, and carried the ball five times for 147 yards.

“We grew up as the night progressed, which is good to see,” Cimarron coach Shane Kanie said. “We are starting to find our niche like everyone else in this city.”

Slam brought the ball inside the Cimarron 20-yard line on multiple occasions, but the Spartans’ defense kept them off the scoreboard.

Isiah Feathers and Andrew Overland had fumble recoveries for Cimarron, and Anderson added an interception.
