A Michigan man who made a bomb threat at the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on Tuesday “wanted to send a message” to the former president, according to his arrest report.

D’Andre Lundy, 44, of Detroit, was booked at the Clark County Detention Center on two counts of communicating a bomb threat, two counts of making threats or conveying false information concerning acts of terrorism, and one count of unlawful possession/manufacture of a hoax bomb.

Metro Police said Lundy arrived at the 64-story Trump hotel via taxi at 12:41 p.m. Tuesday and entered with a large black bag and suitcase. Once inside, Lundy walked toward the concierge station, placed the suitcase and bag on the floor and stated “everybody needs to leave the building. There is a bomb in here,” according to the report.

Lundy left in the same cab one minute later.

Police responded, along with units from the Southern Nevada Counter Terrorism Center, the Clark County Bomb Squad and Metro’s anti-explosives unit. They spoke with a security supervisor, who said they helped evacuate the lobby area and adjacent restaurant.

The hotel received a call at 12:54 from a Detroit-area number. The employee who answered told officers the person on the other line said, “Bomb, 15 minutes to evacuate the building.” By the time the call ended, the hotel’s caller ID identified the caller as Lundy.

Surveillance footage identified the taxi company, which told investigators they returned Lundy to a motel on Tropicana Avenue, according to the report. Lundy was arrested without incident at the property.

While detained, Lundy asked detectives if he could get his luggage back.

“I told them it’s a bomb, no one got hurt, so there’s no crime,” Lundy said, according to the arrest report.

Lundy told detectives he arrived in Las Vegas from Michigan on Monday and “wanted to send Trump the message that he is a beast.” Lundy said he believed Trump “messed up his life” for the last three years and admitted to making the threats.

Lundy said that the luggage contained a Bible, a rock and a $1 bill. In the Bible were handwritten “scriptures” identifying Trump as a beast, according to the arrest report.
