Palo Verde High’s Furious Hoskins couldn’t have asked for a better to start to the game on Friday against Centennial.

Hoskins scored three touchdowns — on the initial three times he touched the ball — in leading the Panthers to a 48-30 win. Hoskins had receiving touchdowns of 65 and 45 yards, and rushed for a 41 yard score.

Palo Verde improves to 2-3 overall and has confidence heading into league play after beating a fellow class 5A opponent in Centennial. The Panthers play Foothill next week in the open.

“Foothill is really good,” Palo Verde coach Joe Aznarez said. “They are our first league game and we will have to play really well to beat them.”

Blair Thayer added two rushing touchdowns in the Centennial win.
