4A High School Football State Championship Silverado vs Shadow Ridge

Silverado High running back Donavyn Pellot (2) evades Stanton Cox (2) of Shadow Ridge in the 1st quarter of their 4A championship game at Allegiant Stadium Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021.

Donavyn Pellot, who is likely the best player in the 25-year history of Silverado High football, verbally committed this morning to UCLA, Skyhawks coach Andy Ostolaza said.

The 6-foot-2 Pellot, who plays wide receiver and defensive back, also had scholarship offers from Washington, Washington State, Arizona, Fresno State, UNLV and others.

He’s considered a three-star recruit by 247 Sports, who lists him as the No. 5 overall recruit in Nevada for the class of 2023.

Pellot led Silverado to an undefeated season and class 4A championship in 2021, registering 1,229 all-purpose yards and 17 touchdowns on offense, and 66 tackles and two interceptions on defense.

He’s been equally unstoppable through four games this season. Take a 61-7 win against Sierra Vista, when Pellot scored five touchdowns — three rushing, one receiving and one punt return.

Verbal commitments are non-binding until an athlete signs a letter-of-intent. Signing day is in December.
