Desert Pines’ Greg Burrell had three rushing touchdowns — including a 75-yard scamper on a fake punt — tonight in a 42-7 victory over host Centennial in a rematch of the 2019 state semifinals.
Desert Pines got a little revenge tonight for the 2019 defeat, including Jaylen Allen returning an interception 103 yards for a touchdown.
“We were a little sloppy in the first half, but in the second half we started to execute a little bit offensively,” coach Tico Rodriguez said.
Malik Jones had a rushing touchdown and Trey Jackson scored on a touchdown reception.
After losing a close game in Utah to open the season, Desert Pines has won four straight games and only yielded 14 points.
