On the first play of Liberty High football team’s game at Faith Lutheran, running back Isaiah Lauofo took off 80 yards for a touchdown.
On the second play it was the Patriots Colin Gregorio connecting with Jayden Robertson for a 51-yard touchdown.
Robertson had more than 200 yards receiving and three touchdowns as Liberty made quick work of Faith Lutheran in a 41-6 victory to open class 5A play.
“We played great tonight,” Liberty coach Rich Muraco said. “The only negative was 14 penalties. But offensively, we made some big plays, and defensively, we made some big stops.”
Rayshaun Manker had the signature defensive play with an interception at the goal line to stop a Faith Lutheran scoring drive.
Gregorio passed for two touchdowns, and Tyrese Smith threw for three. Landon Bell, who recently committed to the University of Washington, had two touchdown receptions.
