Days after finally confirming the opening dates for its “UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere” residency, U2 added seven additional performances of its new concert spectacular at Sphere. Beyond the initial shows on September 29 and 30 and October 5, 7 and 8, the iconic band will take the Strip’s newest stage on October 11, 13, 14, 18, 20, 21 and 25. Tickets will of course be available via Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program with registration at u2.ticketmaster.com, with the presale also scheduled for April 27.

Pop legend Lionel Richie is bringing an all-new show, “King of Hearts,” when he returns to his residency at Wynn’s Encore Theater this fall. The longtime Strip headliner is back onstage October 11, 13, 14, 18, 20 and 21, and tickets go on sale April 28 at Ticketmaster.

Here are the other Las Vegas live entertainment announcements of this week: the Fremont Street Experience unveiled its biggest lineup yet for its Downtown Rocks Free Concert Series, starting with Smash Mouth, Toadies and Marcy Playground on May 28 and Walk the Moon on June 3, and continuing through October with artists including Live, Switchfoot, The All-American Rejects, Young the Giant, Dashboard Confessional and more; Erykah Badu and Yasiin Bey join forces at Michelob Ultra Arena at Mandalay Bay on June 16; Kevin Hart will wind down his Reality Check Tour with two more shows at Resorts World Theatre on July 7 and 8; ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro returns to Las Vegas for a concert at the Santa Fe Station’s Chrome Showroom on July 7; reggae singer and songwriter Stephen Marley performs at The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas on July 13; comedian Anthony Rodia is back in the Summit Showroom at Venetian on July 15; dance-pop chart-topper and reality TV personality Erika Jayne will launch her “Bet It All On Blonde” residency at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay on August 25, with dates continuing through December 16; the LL Cool J-curated hip-hop tour The F.O.R.C.E., featuring the man himself along with The Roots, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Rakim, Salt-N-Pepa and Ice-T, lands at MGM Grand Garden Arena on September 2; Derek Hough will kick off his new Symphony of Dance Tour at the Pearl Concert Theater on September 28; hard rock act Motionless In White will play The Theater at Virgin on September 30; Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox returns to Las Vegas on November 9 at The Theater at Virgin; and Carrie Underwood added three concerts to her Resorts World Theatre residency on December 13, 15 and 16.
