Sophomore quarterback Mark Ames rushed for two touchdowns and passed for another on Friday night in a 45-21 win over Cadence.
Cimarron (1-1) trailed 14-12 at halftime, but Jyren Westbrooks had a 78-yard touchdown to break the game open. He also had five tackles on defense.
Elias Laulu had three tackles and a sack in the win for the Spartans, who next week play rival Cheyenne in the Duel in the Desert.
“It was a good team win for us, and we needed it to go into Duel in the Desert week,” coach Shane Kanie said.
