Deion Brooks had a 70-yard touchdown run on a reverse for the Valley football team Friday night in a 32-6 win over Western in the season opener for both schools.
“We dominated up front on the line of scrimmage,” Valley coach CJ Jordan said.
Samere Ellis and Michael McCord also scored for the Vikings, who had a 1-8 record in 2022 — including being shut out in four straight games. But, the first-year coach Jordan says this year is different.
“The win gives them confidence that the hard work does pay off,” the coach said.
