A man was hit and killed after being hit by a vehicle Sunday evening, according to a Metro Police news release.
At about 6:40 p.m., the pedestrian was crossing East Washington Avenue west of Stoney Beach Street outside of a marked crosswalk.
Meanwhile, as a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling west on Washington, the pedestrian crossed the vehicle’s path of travel and was struck, the release stated.
Medical personnel declared the 47-year-old pedestrian dead at the scene.
The driver remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment, police stated.
