Multiple people killed in wrong-way collision on US-95 in Las Vegas

Multiple people were killed in a wrong-way vehicle collision Saturday in the northwest valley, according to a Nevada State Police news release.

Officers responded about 3:11 p.m. to the report of a crash on the US-95 northbound Durango off-ramp.

According to the release, a 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser was traveling in the wrong direction on US-95 in the northbound travel lane south of the northbound Durango off-ramp. Meanwhile, a 2022 GMC Acadia was traveling north on US-95, with a 2014 Kia Soul behind it.

The PT Cruiser struck the Acadia before rotating and striking the Soul as well. The PT Cruiser overturned and entered the left shoulder, where the undercarriage struck two additional vehicles that were parked on the shoulder before coming to rest on its side in the shoulder, the release stated.

The driver of the PT Cruiser, Antonia Marie Apton, 50, of Bullhead City and the driver of the Acadia, Karen Foote, 63, of Sparks, suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene, the release stated.

A juvenile passenger in the Soul was transported to an area hospital, where they died from injuries suffered in the crash, according to the release.
