Las Vegas police: Rollerblader hit by car, critically injured

A female rollerblading on a Las Vegas area street Wednesday was hit by a car and critically injured, according to Metro Police.

The incident happened about 5:45 p.m. at Las Vegas Boulevard South and Pebble Road, police said.

The female was rollerblading west on Pebble when she went through a red light and was hit by a car headed north on Las Vegas Boulevard, police said.

The female, whose identity was not known, was taken to University Medical Center, where she was in critical condition, police said.

The driver, an 89-year-old Las Vegas woman, was not injured, police said. She remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment, police said.

The incident remains under investigation, police said.
