A man is facing murder charges for a shooting death Thursday at an east Las Vegas apartment complex over a stolen vehicle, according to Metro Police.

Christopher Hall, 51, was booked into the Clark County Detention Center for open murder with a deadly weapon for the fatal shooting in the 1200 block of Tree Line Drive, officials said.

Law enforcement was called to the neighborhood about 7:47 p.m. to find the victim in a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound, police said.

Two individuals approached the victim, who was standing near a reported stolen vehicle in the complex, police said.

The victim attempted to leave the area by entering another vehicle. That’s when one of the individuals who approached pulled out a gun and shot the victim, police said.

A statement from police didn’t indicate if Hall fired the gun.

The identification of the victim will later be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
